Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Conect ("Conect", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Conect mobile app and related services. Conect is operated by GiGx Prime Consult (Ghana). By using Conect, you agree to this policy.

1. Who Conect is for

• Attendees — anyone may discover events, buy tickets, and connect with other attendees.
• Creators — event organizers must be 18+ and complete government-ID verification to create events and receive payouts.

2. Information we collect

You provide:

• Account details — name, email address, password, phone number.
• Profile — profile photos, cover photo, bio, and (optional) job title, company, LinkedIn URL, and networking goals.
• Creator ID verification — a photo of your government ID (e.g., Ghana Card, front and back) and a live selfie. This is used only to verify your identity before you can create events.
• Payout details — your bank name, account number, and account holder name (creators only), so we can pay you.
• Event content — events you create, ticket purchases, reviews, messages, and check-ins.

Collected automatically:

• Location — with your permission, your approximate GPS location to show "events near you". You can deny this; the app still works.
• Device & usage data — device model, app version, and basic usage needed to run the service.
• Push token — a Firebase Cloud Messaging token so we can send you notifications (you can turn notifications off).

Payments:

• Card / mobile-money payments are processed by Paystack. Conect does not see or store your full card or mobile-money credentials — Paystack handles them directly.

3. How we use your information

• To create and secure your account and authenticate you.
• To show events, sell tickets, and enable the live attendee-networking ("Conect") feature.
• To verify creators' identity and process creator payouts and refunds.
• To send tickets, reminders, and announcements you've opted into.
• To prevent fraud, enforce our terms, and comply with the law.

4. How your information is shared

• Other users — your profile (name, photos, bio, networking info) is visible to other attendees at an event when you opt in to the attendee directory / Conect feature.
• Event creators — when you buy a ticket, the organizer sees the information needed to admit you (e.g., name, ticket, and any checkout answers).
• Service providers (processors):
  • Google Firebase — authentication, database, storage, hosting, and push notifications.
  • Paystack — payment processing and creator payouts.
  • Google Maps/Places — venue search and location.
• We do not sell your personal information.
• We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users and the platform.

5. Sensitive data (ID & financial)

Your ID images and bank/payout details are stored in a restricted, private area accessible only to you and authorized Conect administrators for verification and payout purposes. They are not shown to other users.

6. Data retention & deletion

• We keep your information while your account is active.
• You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time by emailing conectghana@gmail.com. Some records (e.g., transaction/tax records) may be retained where required by law.

7. Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your information, withdraw consent (e.g., location, notifications), and request a copy of your data by contacting us at conectghana@gmail.com.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, restricted access, server-side payment handling) to protect your data. No method is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your information.

9. Children

Conect is not directed to children under 13. Creators must be 18+. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will remove it.

10. International users

Conect is operated from Ghana and uses providers (Google, Paystack) that may process data in other countries with appropriate safeguards.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy; we'll post the new "Last updated" date here and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
